In other nifty art news, local artist Redd Walitzki's painting "Mignon" was featured on a billboard in Times Square, NY earlier this week! Art Takes Times Square, produced by Artists Wanted, scoured the globe for today's greatest creative talents to identify one artist whose work will be displayed in a massive exhibition on the glittering screens of Times Square. Tens of thousands of artists joined this international phenomenon, contributing works that were featured live at the Art Takes Times Square billboard premier!

One last update before I leave you for the eve...

Brilliantly talented artist and fellow Cornish graduate Aleah Chapin won the 2012 BP Portrait Award with her oil portrait of "Auntie." Aleah's work and the work of the 54 other finalists will be featured at the national Portrait Gallery in London until September 23rd. For more info, check out the BBC storey here.
